The Native Legacy Foundation (NLF) uses research, heart and dedication to improve the health, wellness and education of the Native Community across all ages and regions.
1. To promote empowerment
Our communities and individuals have inherent strengths, skills and processes for healing. Our goal through our programming is to allow these strengths to come to the forefront and have the individuals take these skills back to the community.
2. To Educate
It is our goal to present state of the art programming and best practices research, as well as, accessing indigenous ways of knowing, to educate communities in ways to address significant issues.
3. Make Change Real
It is important to us at NLF that our programming and education are not just events. Our goal is to collaborate, create and sustain positive relationships that create significant longitudinal change.
The team of Native Legacy Foundation has over 100 years combined of dedicated service to the Native community. The creativity and efforts of the staff helps bring innovative programs to the community.
By using in-house resources, as well as, a vast pool of top tier professionals, the options for programming are virtually limitless.
Carminda Tonemah

Carminda is an owner of First Nations Telehealth Solutions and Tonemah Consulting Group. Carminda is passionate about working with and building up youth in the Native community. She is a certified kids yoga instructor and the mother of 5 beautiful children.
Darryl Tonemah (Kiowa/Comanche/Tuscarora)

Vice President
Dr. Tonemah has dedicated his personal and professional career to empowering the Native community. He is an internationally renowned educator and artist. He has worked on many of the reservations and Native communities in North America.
Olin E. Cummings
Secretary/Treasurer
Olin is a Retired CPA and owned his accounting practice for over 40 years. He is one of the original organizers of the foundation in 1999. Mr. Cummings has been working with the Dine (Navajo) community for the past 50 plus years.
Loren Tonemah (Tuscarora/Kiowa/Comanche)
Program Specialist
Loren Tonemah has worked in/with Native communities, and Native youth for over 20 years.
The Native Legacy Foundation (NLF) has been active in Indian Country for over twenty years. It has also operated as the Navajo Heritage Foundation. It is a 501c3 organization dedicated to the health, education and wellness of Native Peoples around the country. Its activities are designed to support and empower Native Communities. The committed team of NLF has dedicated themselves to educating on Native Culture, youth leadership training and trauma care.
NLF has also sponsored the Native American Christmas benefit concert series, which has occurred nationally over the past 21 years collecting over 35,000 gifts for indigent Native families. NLF will continue to develop and seek new avenues to empower and engage.
